NE Chamber celebrates 100th golf challenge

The Greater Northeast Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce last week held its 100th annual Directors Cup Golf Challenge at Union League Golf Club at Torresdale, 3801 Grant Ave.

The winning foursome, with a score of 128, came from Holy Family and consisted of Frank Harte, Tim Hamill, Fred Graziana and Deno Ondrejka.

The runners-up, from Steamfitters Local 420, with a score of 133, were Mike Mierzejewski, Jim Rocks Sr., Perry Corsetti and Jim Rocks Jr.

In third place, from Meridian Bank, with a score of 133 were Ryan Winchester, Len Lynch, John Toner and Benjamin Peek.

In the closest to the pin contest, held on the fourth hole, the winner was Matt Hannon, who came within 5 feet.

The longest drive winners were Nick DeLuca among men and Doreen Masalta among women.

Joe McMonigle won the putting contest.

In a “Break the Glass” contest, there was a tie between Earl Hutz and Jim Rocks Jr. ••
